The Ambassador sits on the board. So does the British Council.
Working in partnership with the British Embassy and the British Council, whose senior representatives sit on the Board of Management, BritCham is committed to maintaining a services eco-structure that supports all stages of business development, from inception to doing business in Indonesia.
What the chamber is
To be the leading business membership association.
BritCham Indonesia is an independent, non-political, not-for-profit pro-business organisation that represents British and Indonesian business communities who have an interest, as we do, in nurturing the growth of the bilateral business relationship, particularly as the Indonesian economy moves steadily forward in its pursuit of a top ten place among the largest economies of the world.
BritCham Indonesia is committed to strengthening UK and Indonesia trade and investment. It works closely with the British Embassy in Jakarta and engages constructively with key Indonesian government institutions, ministries, business associations and chambers to advocate for a more open, transparent and enabling business environment.
The chamber is now in its 48th year and has long been recognised as the most active foreign chamber of commerce in Indonesia.
Board of Management
The Board of Management: twenty four members, each with the employer and title BritCham prints beside their name.
The British institutions in Jakarta
Five seats are held ex officio by the British institutions in Jakarta, and the British Ambassador to Indonesia and Timor-Leste is the chamber’s Honorary President.
Advisory Board
BritCham Executive Office
The executive team.
What the chamber publishes
Headlines only, in the chamber's order: much of the newsroom carries other organisations' announcements alongside its own.
Every story. The chamber keeps its membership directory behind a member login, so no member is named here. What it does publish about its members is the estimate above.
The Business Confidence Index
The chamber's public policy work, open to every visitor.
The Business Confidence Index (BCI) is the ninth annual survey designed and managed by BritCham, supported by bp Indonesia, British School Jakarta, Bumi Laut Group, CastleAsia, the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, Inke Maris & Associates, the London School of Public Relations, Noble Solutions and the Oval Partnership, with Nielsen as the market research partner. It represents the views of corporate members on doing business in Indonesia: the investment climate, potential economic reform and future investment plans. The findings are used by the chamber and its partners to lobby for reform and to promote Indonesia as an investment destination, in activities with BKPM, Bank Indonesia, Kadin and other government and industry bodies.
